Captain Gilbert Mair during his work with Māori communities in the late 19th
century. Ko Tawa unveils treasures of
exquisite beauty, each with a unique story to tell. The exhibition includes a
cloak evidently worn by Te Kooti and the flute used by Tutanekai to guide
Hinemoa to Mokoia Island. Exhibition toured by Auckland Museum and curated by Dr Paul Tapsell.
